Friso Wiersum

Friso Wiersum (44) is a programme maker, moderator and connector. He works as project manager: communications at the European Cultural Foundation (ECF).

Educated as an historian, his interests centre around defining and building strategies to bring about more democratic futures. In his job position Friso is co-responsible for drafting and executing ECF campaigns, (communication) partnerships, public events and social media.

Besides his job at the ECF he is a member of Expodium, an Urban-Do Tank (U-DT) which curates, teaches and publishes on art and the city. He sometimes reviews books, is a member of a DJ collective, and rides his bicycle.

On Saturday 9 May, Europe Day was celebrated with an online festival, organised by the European Cultural Foundation. The website lets attendees share, experience and imagine Europe through stories, clips, films, podcasts, research, artwork, documentaries, campaigns, performances and debates. The festival content is available until 29 May.
