Tarryn Abrahams

Tarryn Abrahams is reading towards her master’s degree in the human rights protection stream at her alma mater, the University of the Western Cape. She is also the recipient of the Mandela Scholarship Fund, and will be going on exchange for a semester to Leiden University, the Netherlands. From the tender age of eight years old, Tarryn was inspired by the movie Legally blonde to study towards a law degree – and that is exactly what she did. In addition to her interest in human rights law, Tarryn also enjoys property law, largely influenced by her experience as an intern estate agent. Once she completes her master’s degree, Tarryn intends to pursue her PhD and a career in academia.

The 23-year-old Tarryn Abrahams, a master’s law student from the University of the Western Cape, recently received the prestigious Mandela Scholarship, and will thus soon be trading her hometown, Kuils River, for Leiden.
